St. Ignatius de Loyola Cathedral

Choosing a Church was not actually very hard for me. I have one thing in my mind whenever I think about getting married or choosing a church for a wedding. When I first stepped into Sta. Maria dela Strada Parish along with my aunt few years ago, I already fell in love with how solemn and beautiful the church is. It has a short aisle (which I always wanted because I wanna be married in a small church), an oval set up inside which I find unique because the usual shape of the altar and seats inside are the typical classroom type and here, well, its kinda like the same.. BUT in an oval orientation :D hehe! It has also a beautiful outdoor garden and it's located in Quezon City! It was all I ever dreamed of when it comes an intimate church wedding :D

So we went to Della Strada one Sunday morning because I had an interview along Katipunan Avenue so I asked Badjo to meet me up and then go to Della Strada, inquire and attend mass. We went to the Parish office to inquire, they said that they don't accept 2015 Weddings yet, but we can go back around June (it was April when we went there). We asked about how much would it cost for the whole wedding ceremony and the requirements as well. It will cost us P10,000 pesos for the ceremony, including the Priest, Musicians/Instruments, and Red Carpet.

Here are the sample pictures we took:

I seriously got teary-eyed when we went inside the church to attend the mass. I just cant help my self because this was really the Church I wanted, and Badjo as well. He was actually amazed with the church and considered it for the wedding :) And I asked him if he feels good about the church and if he wants to do the wedding here.. and he said yes :D So from there, we felt like, it was the 'this is it Church".

When I went home, I got so excited that I told my dad about it. He said "bakit dun? Mejo malayo-layo yun sa Reception nyo and sa place natin. Bakit hindi ka mag-inquire sa simbahan dun sa Campo?" he was actually referring to St. Ignatius de Loyola Cathedral.

The day after that, I called Badjo and told him to go to St. Ignatius to check it out. So below are the pictures he got :) :

I actually remember how the church looks like --it was a bit bigger compared to Della Strada, airconditioned and has a short aisle too. I researched and compared the looks of the two church online, watched several SDEs to compare it. I just realized, yeah it was not actually bad. Both are two beautiful churches. Tho Della Strada Parish is along C5/Katipunan avenue and there are a lot of vendors outside. Neither of the two have wooden doors, for Della Strada it has concrete gates going inside the Church proper and for the St. Ignatius they have glass doors which you typically see in offices. Both used curtains for the Bride's entrance during wedding ceremonies. A former colleague and one of my officemates was married to St. Ignatius. Below are sample pictures:

I really like this shot. Parang Beatles picture when they were in Abbey Road :D

O diba, it looks beautiful din especially kapag naayusan :D We went here last holy week, and I noticed they have a very good parking slot :D very ideal with friends and families with cars ;)  it was also nostalgic for me, kasi at the back of the church, there was a school and a small chapel. That was where we had the funeral of my Grandfather. So all of my childhood memories came back. hahaha!

So, again, I asked Badjo how did he feel when he saw the church, as usual, I got his "okay lang, maganda naman.." and I asked him "so ano okay lang ba? Dyan nalang tayo? Okay din kasi dyan. Airconditioned pa" and ayun, I asked him how much, and he said it was the same with Della Strada, P10,000. Good thing about the church is that, they are accepting weddings na for next year, and our date is still available! :D so It's a sign! :D They are just asking P2,000 as reservation fee, so Badjo paid and we have reservations na :)

Tho on the other side of me, I actually wanted to have the wedding in Della Strada, pero I realized the accessibility of Oasis and the hotel for Wedding Prep, it was nearer than Della Strada kasi.. So there. We can just probably have our babies baptized in Della Strada hihihihi! :D

I just want to share other churches that we considered. Mt. Carmel costs P15,000 with flower arranging, Priests, Red Carpet and Musical Instruments:

The ceiling was really high, and nakakalula and the aisle was soooooo mahaba. Nakakapagod lols.

So there, we're done with the Church. More suppliers and our divi adventure to follow :D
